Swedish Meatballs is an intimate, heart-wrenching two-hander exploring the relationship between a mother and daughter navigating love, illness, memory, and acceptance. Set between a hospital ward and the showroom of an IKEA, the play delicately balances humour and heartbreak as it follows Rose and her mother Stella through moments of care, tension, and unexpected tenderness. At its core, it’s a story about holding on, when letting go feels inevitable.
